Anamaria Marinca is an Romanian actress. Her debut on screen was Sex Traffic, a Channel 4 film for which she received the British Academy Television Award as the Best Actress. She is fluent in French, German English, and Romanian. Her father is the theatre professor at one of Romania's top theater schools. In the Mangalia Gala of Young Actors, she was awarded the Best Female Actor Award 2000. In 2008 The European Film Promotion Board recognized her as a European Shooting Star. She starred as an actor from Romania in Romanian actress in Cristian Mungiu's film 4 months 3 weeks and Two days, 4 months (four months, three weeks and two days) which was awarded three weeks, four months and two days) which was awarded the Palme d'Or and other prizes during the 2007 Cannes Film Festival. Additionally, she was an infant in the film of Francis Ford Coppola's Youth Without Youth. In 2008 she played Yasim anwar in the BBC series The Last Enemy. Marinca was a guest on her own Romanian drama Boogie and Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven. In the movie Fury (2014) in which she was Irma, a German woman, who served as Emma's aunt.
